The Art of Contemporary Travis Picking contains my teaching method for a very popular fingerpicking style for guitar, commonly called "alternating-bass" or "Travis Picking." It is a typically American style of guitar playing, popularized by the late Merle Travis in the 1940s and '50s. Its roots trace back much earlier, with the earliest recordings of the style emanating from the southeastern United States in the 1920s.
The four basic Travis Picking patterns may be altered in a seemingly endless variety of ways, and are easily adapted to many different types of music. Most of today's popular folk, country, and rock artists often use the Travis Pick style to accompany their songs.
There are two main purposes for this book. The first is to teach the student to accompany his/her favorite songs in an interesting and enjoyable way. The second is to develop the student's ear, technique, and understanding to the point that learning from favorite Travis Picking recordings becomes possible. Because of the book's step-by-step approach, beginning and experienced fingerpickers alike can become thoroughly familiar with the fun- damentals of the Travis Picking style.
This book and recording offer much more than Travis Picking fundamentals. By mastering all of the techniques described in the book, you will be well on your way to elevating the Travis Pick from basic chordal accompaniment patterns to a complex solo guitar style. How long does delivery take?
Delivery times vary depending on the destination. It
is 2 days for Sofia, and a week for the rest of Bulgaria.

4 weeks depending on the destination. The orders are
